THE HEPWORTH WAKEFIELD- Barbara Hepworth, Eva Rothschild, Anthea Hamilton
On Saturday 21st January 2017 I visited The Hepworth Wakefield. There was a wide range of art works exhibited; these are the pieces which interested me the most. I have always found Barbara Hepworth's sculptures to be fascinating because of the diverse range in scales and shapes. The 'Wandering Palm, 2011'' by Eva Rothschild was interesting because the choice of colour and materials used. Anthea Hamilton's 'Vulcano Table, 2014 ' was intriguing as it possesses fluid-like qualities and the bright red colour is captivating; it stood out amongst the other art works in the room.

Saturday 5th November I visited Nottingham Contemporary, I found the exhibition by Marguerite Humeau extremely impressive and moving. Within this exhibition she used prototypes of elephants to create a range of feelings from melancholy to joy; having a prototype of an elephant dying as the main part. I would definitely suggest visiting!
YORKSHIRE SCULPTURE PARK- ROGER HIORNS: SEIZURE
On Saturday 15th October I went to Yorkshire Sculpture Park in West Yorkshire. YSP is one of my favourite places to visit as not only do they have indoor galleries they also have 'open air' sculptures and artworks. They frequently update their exhibitions as well as having permanent sculptures on site. This was one of the most mesmerising installations I have ever seen by Roger Hiorns- he created these alluring, sparkly, copper sulphate crystals in this interior setting, by pumping 75,000 litres of liquid copper sulphate into the council flat bed sit which began to form these magnificent crystals on the surrounding walls, floor, ceiling and bathtub!
YORKSHIRE SCULPTURE PARK- NOT VITAL
THE TATE, LONDON- GERHARD RICHTER
On Wednesday 28th September, I went on a coach to London to explore and visit some exhibitions. I was extremely inspired by these abstract paintings created by Gerhard Richter, the brushstrokes and layers were extremely intriguing, along with the application of well considered colours. The scale of each painting was also very impressive, to me they filled the room with calmness and tranquillity not only because of the colours chosen but the care and process of each applied layer of paint.
YORKSHIRE SCULPTURE PARK- KAWS
I visited YSP on Sunday 29th May, I go there quite regularly, to see all the different exhibitions, as I have family that live close. These photographs I have taken, are part of the exhibition 'Final Days' by the American artists 'KAWS'. The giant sculptures are made from bronze, fibreglass, aluminium and wood. These sculptures represent the stages of growing up in a nostalgic way, the largest of the sculptures is 'Small Lie', which stands at 10 metres tall. Each wooden sculpture has a different name within the 'Final Days' exhibtion; Small Lie, Along The Way, Better Knowing and Good Intentions.
PARIS
I went to Paris with university in February and it was an amazing experience. We explored everywhere we could in the three days we were there; visited the Louis Vuitton Foundation, The Eiffel Tower, Champ de Elysees and The Notre Dame. I took a large range of photographs whilst there, especially of the magnificent Louis Vuitton Foundation which ended up inspiring my design direction in project 3.
